This was one of my first graduation portrait sessions done inside a studio. Some of my clients choose studio portraits for a few reasons. One reason is that they lack a strong connection to the physical campus. This could be because they spent little time on campus or spent most of their time at home taking online classes. Another reason for the studio option is unforeseen weather conditions. Especially in May and June, the weather in Southern California can get gloomy, making a sunset impossible. Some of my clients choose a custom package that includes LinkedIn headshots with their grad portraits, and the studio is the perfect place for that. Finally, another reason I often hear is that they already took their undergrad grad portraits on campus and want a change of scenery for their masters. This is especially true if they did their undergrad and masters both on the same campus. This was the main reason why Heather chose to have her graduation portraits taken in the studio!
