Heisler Park Proposal and Engagement Session | Laguna Beach, California

I love it when my past clients inquire about my photography services, and it's even more amazing when they ask me to document another special moment in their lives. A few years ago, I had the pleasure of taking Ramie's graduation portraits. This past summer, he asked me if I was available to photograph his proposal to his girlfriend, Lemma.

Lemma is the sister of Ramie's best friend, and they have known each other since they were little. A few years ago, they reconnected at her family's Thanksgiving gathering, and Ramie asked Lemma's brother for permission to get to know her better. Fast forward a few years, and they are now engaged!

A few weeks before the proposal, Ramie told Lemma that he had set up a couples portrait session with me at Heisler Park. Little did she know, it was all a setup for the proposal. While we were taking photos in another area of the park, Lemma's sister and her friends were busy decorating the gazebo with balloons and decorations. After about 30 minutes into the "couples shoot," Ramie received a notification on his Apple watch from Lemma's sister, indicating that they had finished preparing for the proposal. Once we got the green light, we walked up to the gazebo. Lemma couldn't believe it at first, but once we were inside the gazebo, Ramie got down on one knee and proposed. The rest, as they say, is history!
